The Great Rift Valley is approximately 6,000 kilometres in length, from northern Syria in Southwest Asia to central Mozambique in East Africa but most often used to refer to the valley of the East African Rift, it is splitting the African Plate into two new separate plates.
The Great Rift Valley can even be seen from the airplane one travels to visit Kenya.
Hiring a car and driving through it is due to it's beautiness an unforgetable adventure and will give one many possibilities for photography.
On one side of the Great Rift Valley Kericho is to be found. Kericho is a city in the Rift Valley Province and the capital of the Kericho District. It's the center of the most important tea plantation area of Kenya. Kericho and surroundings are most famous because of its tea plantations. The deep green tea leafes charaterize the area and makes it more shining green then anywhere else.
If one is interested he can also visit one of the tea producing factories. Depending on the company group it might be necessary to have a talk with the local management before but it's always worth a try.
